Michelle
and John first met in Raleigh, NC
through mutual friends.
Michelle was studying for her
undergraduate degree in Chemistry
and John was starting his Graduate
Degree in Microbiology at North
Carolina State University.
They were friends first and would
watch basketball games, movies and
have dinner with a close group of
friends. John fell in love at
first bite when he had tasted
Michelle's pepperoni bread, and
Michelle loved his infectious laugh
and sense of humor.
John grew up in the close-knit
community of Morganton NC, with his
mother, father and two older
brothers. John enjoys hiking,
backpacking, rafting and reading.
He has taught Michelle about "real"
backpacking, and they enjoy going on
canoe trips and rafting down the Nantahala river. He and Michelle
also love traveling. One summer
Michelle took John to New York,
which is above the Mason-Dixon Line,
or more importantly above the Sweet
Tea Line. They usually travel to
see family throughout North
Carolina, going from Murphy to Mateo
many times. John is currently a
manager at North Carolina State in
the Biochemistry Department.
Michelle was born in Santa Clarita
California, had a brief stay in
Michigan and has lived in North
Carolina for the last 15 years. She
enjoys playing soccer, shopping and
going out on Lake Norman with her
family and friends. She has one dog
and two and a half cats. She
currently works in the Clinical
Transplant Immunology Laboratory at
Duke University Medical Center. |
